Creativity

By Kat Lessin

creativity in life
The Un-viewed Angle by Kat Lessin

I felt inspired to write this blog due to my own dilemma.

Writing a Blog is a very creative but also a very structured process.  I have found it very challenging in these last few months.  My creativity doesn't flow very easily under structure.  I find it very hard to get all of my thoughts together and formulated on paper.  Yes, the page.  The computer has ALWAYS blocked my creative process when writing.

Creativity plays a major role in our lives.  When I started a Blog I was not thinking of it as a creative process, but it is.  Whether it is a major part of your life being a professional writer or artist, or if you need to brainstorm a project for work, or if you need to create a new product for your business – the need to be creative shows up all the time in our day-to-day lives.  This is an essential piece in the design process of our lives.

It is important to know your own creative process.  Do you know your creative times of day or night?  Do you need silence?  Do you need great music?  Do you need a blank white board?  Do you need a clean workspace?  It is important to start taking note of these things so that you can ignite your creativity at will when needed.

If you don’t think of yourself as creative, I challenge you to push past that limiting belief.  Designing your life is a very creative thing.  Taking your goals, desires and responsibilities and getting them all to fit perfectly for you, takes some creativity.  It also may take you pushing against yourself, like I have been doing for months to get comfortable with this new creative venture of blogging.

Even if you don’t call yourself a creative person, you still need creativity on some basic level to cast your limitless vision of your dream life.  Start looking at your creative process today.
